Christa's Pond
My neighbour, Christa, has a couple of small ponds, not carefully manicured but largely left natural through the seasons. The colours, textures and heights of the surrounding plants, the reflections of passing clouds in the water, the various grays of the rough rocks, the obscured mystery of what is hidden beneath the water is what attracts me to it.

After a hiatus of a few years I have returned to the persistent theme of water that has frequently appeared in my painting. It feels like a homecoming.
